D-Cloprostenol Sodium is a synthetic Prostaglandin analog that is used in veterinary medicine to induce luteolysis (the breakdown of the corpus luteum) and to synchronize estrus in cattle, horses, and pigs. It is also used to induce abortion in animals, and is sometimes used off-label to induce labor in pregnant cows.
